The Stork Party

This  year  has  flown,  my resolution  to  slow  down.......  didn't  work  and  things have  been  hectic,  with  going on holiday,  organising  a woman's  tea with the  theme   The  Wild Wild  West,  going  on a  Public  Speaking  course, going  on a  Colour me  Perfect  Course,  designing   and  presenting  my own  Time  Mangement  course,  for  which  I  now  already  have  people  who  are  waiting  for the  next  one, arranging  a new  members  breakfast  for  36  people, going  to see  Phantom of the  Opera......   going  through,  Financial  Year  end.........  my life  is  great.
But  the  highlight of the  last  few  months  has  with  out  doubt  been  the  preparations  for  my  first  Grandchild.......  in  fact  my  first  Grandson,  yes,  we  are  having  a  little  boy  and  we  couldn't  be  more  excited.  I  have  been  posting  a  few  blogs   on my "Being  Granny"  blog...........

A couple  of  weeks  ago  we  had  the  stork  party........  as  my life  has  been  so  hectic  Kira  was  getting  worried  that  she was  not  having  one,  as  I  just  had  so much  on my plate,  but  with  the  help  of  a  friend,  Kira  thought  we  were  going  to  take  some  baby  pictures  of  my  "Granty"  Child   Reuben.......    I  told  her  I  forgot  a  couple  of the  props  at  home........  and  there  was  everyone.........  all  40  of them  and  10  children..............

But  what  a  day  it  was,  we  played  games,  pass   the  parcel,  and  the  peg  game  where  you are  not  allowed  to cross  your  legs,  or the  person  who  notices  takes  your  peg,  and at the  end  the one  with the  most  pegs  gets  a  price.
The  funniest  thing  was  when  Kira  and  her  sister  in law  were  trying  to  feed one  another  baby  food  blind  folded......  that  was  the  "prize"  in the  middle  of the  pass  the  parcel.

She  was  so  blessed,  I think  it  is  a  tribute  to  her,  how  much  people  spoilt  her,  the  party  started  at  2pm,  and  I  eventually got  Kira  home  just  before  8 o'clock.

What  a  lot  of  hard  work.........  but  worth  every minute .............

  1. How fun and congrats to you and your daughter! You will be a wonderful Grandma I'm sure. Think of all the great shopping and I don't care what people say...there are really cute clothes and toys for boys! (Having raised 4 boys, I should know!) I loved the games and I might have to steal some of those ideas for any future showers in our family. Take some time for you in all those busy scheduled days! Now I need to find your other blog!

  2. How exciting! Looks like you all had a great time! The baby food game must have been messy, but fun! :)

  3. What a fun shower, with lots of people there! Congratulations, Grandma (it took me awhile to get used to that name...) You're going to have a lot of fun ahead of you. We have both girls, and one little boy in our bunch, so we get to enjoy it all. Have fun!

  4. Hi Karen, it's so nice hearing from you again. Wow, you've been a busy lady. Congratulations on the announcement of you new baby boy grandchild. Being a grandma is so special.

Feeding baby food blindfolded was played at my daughter's baby shower and she sent me photos. It was hilarious.

I wouldn't fare too good on the Peg game as I mostly sit with my legs crossed.
Thanks for sharing the lovely pictures. JB
