Silence is Golden
Okay, okay, okay I am the first to admit it we are a family of talkers, and if we don't know the person thats fine, we will talk to you, in the doctor's rooms, in the queue at the grocery store, in a lift, in the cinema, in a reastaurant, strangely enough not on aeroplanes i have yet to sit next to someone, whose nose was not in their, computors, ipods, smart phones, or what ever electronic devices are available these days. I really don't mind going into a room full of people because I will just introduce myself and find someone to talk to.
But sometimes, just sometimes I want silence, not quiet, but silence. No music, no TV, no dogs licking their paws, or any other part of their bodies, disgusting or not, that they are able to reach, no cats, munching their food, chasing each other under the beds, up and down the passages, no birds laughing.............. nothing like right now............. perfect.
Kayla and Noah are away at my sister for a week and I am all alone and enjoying every minute of it............ silence.........

Raindrops and roses
""Raindrops and roses, and whiskers on kittens bright copper kettles and warm woollen mittens, bright paper packages tied up with string............ these are a few of my favourarite things..........""
Each day as I say my prayers, I remember something I read about, or heard which made a big impression on me.
If you woke up tomorrow with only the things that you had been thankful for the previous day then what would you have.
I am thankful that I have God that I can trust no matter what

I am thankful for my family, and that we really can laugh and love together, this my favouite photo I had it blown up on a canvas and it hangs above my bed.
My organised, artistic, talented daugher and the light of my life Hayden by first grandson.
My baby girl and now with her baby Noah, who has changed all our lives
And the Grand Old Lady my old 100 year old house which always needs something fixing, but who has a character all of her own, when you get here you never want to leave.
I am truly blessed........... THANK YOU

Spring has Sprung
After a long grey winter, with little rain, and one "gift" of black frost my garden was looking very sorry for itself and crying out for some love and attention. Many of the new plants I had put in last summer have not recovered and succummed to the drab, cold dry winter season. And so we start again, I would love to know how much money I have spent over the years on plants that have not made it through the winter, I am sure I would be much richer than I am now, but I suppose that the fun, and peace of gardening is in the planting of new things and watching them grow.
Last year was the ornament and hanging basket year, I have lots of trees so my garden seems to be "green" with little or no colour, not much grows under the trees, so I went for some colorful hanging baskets and "cool fun" stuff for the walls, and as decorations........... I think I just like different, odd, but they are most certainly conversational additions to my garden.
What I need now is rain everything is dry and dusty and sad. Please let it rain
An old spade converted to a plant holder
My beloved verandah, i love to drink my tea here in the mornings, watch the sun rise, and contemplate life, while being entertained my "bubbles the Indian Minor we raised from a tiny pink featherless blob he had been blown out of his nest, and now had a vocabulary of about 30 words........... so cute.
My dog... of the three I have I wish they were all as well behaved as this one the old metal stirrup I dug resting on the bird bath I dug ot of the garden, one of the advantages of having a 100 year old house you never know what you will find.
An old step ladder my sister was throwing away, a good sanding a coat of paint, looks stuning.
