First Memories
A friend and I at work have been playing the game Trivia Crack, well he has been playing I don't have an Ipod Ipad, or anything else with an I in it, that is Android driven........ so I have been assisting, using the term very mildly...... and it is amazing how much you unconsiously remember, how much information is buried in your brain that you are able to access in an instant....... basically the game is a general knowledge game where you pit your general knowledge against random other people, and it is really fun, a good break and super informative.
It reminded me of some years ago when I was chatting and my mom, she asked me what my first memory was and I knew the answer immediately, I can remember watching my big sister standing on a mound of grass and waving to the trains as they passed by. I must say this is something I still do I always wave at the train drivers and still love it when they blow the whistle, something that I already have my grandson doing, that I often have to try and catch up with the front of the trains so the driver can see us just so he can blow the whistle ............ the things we will do for our grandchildren............ I also wave at all helicopters, and light aircraft just in case they can see me.... strange I know.
This is really a simple memory, nothing exciting or life changing or mind blowing, ........... the thing was that the only house we ever lived in with a railway line at the bottom of the garden was a house we lived in, in Booth Avenue I think my mom told me was in xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx and we left that house when I was 18 months old.
If somewhere in your brain is all your memories why can I not remember birthdays, cell numbers, my shopping list, bible verses, to lock my car before I go to bed, to switch on the alarm before I am in bed, to reset the alarm clock on Mondays, to buy milk and bread,to switch on the washing machine when it is loaded and not before, that popcorn makes me cough, and to have a tissue ready when I watch the Body Guard because it always makes me cry........ the memory is a really strange thing........
Had a whole load of pictures which I cannot download,,,,,,,,, can anyone help??

I AM WHO I AM
Thanks for popping in to my blog, i hope you enjoy reading it as much as i enjoy writing it, please pass it on to friends and family, and leave a comment to let me know that SOMEONE, SOMEWHERE, SOMETIME is reading it...
I can't help with the pictures. I am technological illiterate. I have a whole head full of useless information so I love trivia games. Unfortunately I have trouble remembering what a person just said to me.
ReplyDeleteIf I was sitting at your computer I probably could figure the picture thing out..sorry...I bet someone in your area would be able to help. I just got a new phone and it's taken me a good week to figure out how to answer when it rings! (maybe you don't want me at your computer!) I often wonder if those old memories are so precious to us that's it's easier to bring them up....the everyday junk we need to remember doesn't have love mixed in so maybe that's the reason we forget about them!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could help you too Karen. You might be able to google the solution. I hope that someone in your family can help you out. I can remember old memories as if it was yesterday but computer stuff is hard to remember and the computer language is even worst.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
JB
Now you have me thinking about my first memory.
ReplyDeleteI'm actually pretty good at remembering numbers.
I can actually remember our first telephone number when
I was a kid. It was before they were 7 digits. Our number
was 8-5029
